MALE CHOIR CONFERENCE 2023 KEYNOTE ADDDRESS: William Prideaux 

William Prideaux, director of music education charity Peterborough Sings! and Peterborough Male Voice Choir spoke on the multitude of issues facing the modern male choir. He reported the results and suggestions of Peterborough Sings!’ recent Arts Council England-funded national survey of amateur male choirs in association with the University of Sheffield (SPARC). 

REPERTOIRE FOR MALE CHOIRS: Edward-Rhys Harry 

Musical director of the London Welsh Male Voice Choir, Edward-Rhys Harry is in demand as a voice coach, adjudicator, composer, arranger and choral conductor. He delivered a session on repertoire choices for the modern male choir, including existing repertoire from established composers as well as more contemporary works. 

BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS FOR NEW PARTICIPANTS: Barbara Eifler 

Barbara Eifler is Chief Executive of Making Music and - with over 20 years experience leading membership bodies - is passionate about the difference the arts can make to individuals, communities and society.  She spoke on equality, diversity and inclusion, vitally important issues if choirs are to reflect and be relevant to their local communities. 

SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING FOR CHOIRS: Tracey Shibli 

With over thirty years experience in the choral sector, fundraising consultant Tracey Shibli presented a whistle-stop tour of the “hows, whys and wherefores” of fundraising for choirs, exploring the importance of research, planning, and having specific goals and targets, and offering her unique insights and tips for successful bid writing.
